Carbon Footprint Task

Carbon Footprint is the sum of all emissions of CO2 (carbon dioxide) and other greenhouse gases, which were induced by the human activities in a given time frame. Therefore, it is one of the main factors that causes global warming. In this essay I will illustrate and make a comparison between my classmates' footprint and mine.

Numerous websites were published to calculate the carbon footprint. Therefore I calculated mine using two websites. The first website was footprint.wwf.org.uk and my result was 12.39 (WWF). Whereas, in myfootprint.org website my carbon foot print was 19.3 so my average is 15.85. Both websites were asking about four categories of human activities:food, travel, home and staff.

We were asked to compare our averages between three of my classmates. Therefore, our results were almost the same with some slight differances. However, comparing to our country's average 31.48 gha(What it measures), our results are far too low.

In conclusion, there are many ways that reduces the carbon footprint from each one of us such as: use cleaner transport, add energy-saving features to our home and Adopt energy and water-saving habits. By doing these simple things we would save alot of our effort of the near future dilemma.
