Cool Cities

Global warming is increasing day by day. One of the solution of this crisis is building cool cities. Therefore, Abu Dhabi wants to be the first in building such cities. It is called Masdar City "The source". It uses alternative resources that have harmless impacts on the planet. It is to be occupied for around 50,000 people by 2014. However, is building these cities practical or not? that is the question.

The goal of cool cities is to make the whole world population live in a cool cities that to be built all around the world by the year 2050, which in my opinion it is extremely hard to achieve. That is because of two main reasons. The first one is the cost of these cities, not all cities around the world can afford the cost of it. Seeing as Masdar city will cost around $22b (Gulf News).

Secondly, the Population growth is to be concerned. That is because it is soaring sharply and studies say that by 2050 the world population will hike to around 10b. By this figure about 200,000 cool cities must be built to occupy this population.

In conclusion, cool cities is truely a good idea to cut greenhouse-gas emissions. However, I don't agree with the facts that say: by 2050 all people around the world will live in cool cities. In my opinion it is impractical to say such a thing. Instead of wasting multi billion dollars spent in each cool city, they would rather spend it in solving the world biggest crisis "Global warming".
